Color Society of Thailand cooperated with other universities as Chulalongkorn University, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, Prince of Songkla University, Siam University, Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University, and Color Research Center, organized the 1st Annual Conference of CST. It was held on 24th – 25th February 2022 through online. There were 17 papers from students, researchers, and company presented in this conference. In addition, there were 3 proficient invited speakers, Prof. Miho Saito from Japan, Prof.Alain Trémeau from France, and Prof. Stephen Westland from England, gave the special lectures in this conference.
24th February 2022
On 24th of February, CST was horned to be given the opening speech by Prof. Polkit Sangvanich, the Dean of Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University and Prof. Hiroyuki Shinoda, the president of Color Association of Japan, CSAJ.
Then, the morning oral session started by Prof. Miho Saito from Waseda University, Japan. She talked in the topic “My favorite two studies of color: A study on color preference and a cross-modal study of color and fragrance”.
Afternoon oral session started by Prof. Alain Trémeau from Université Jean Monnet, France. He talked in the topic “Multi-illuminant color constancy”.
25th February 2022
On 25th February, the conference was begun by the assembly of CST. In this event there was a report of CST activities through the 2021. Then, CST memberships voted their president. Associate Prof. Pichayada Katemake was nominated and won the election. That make she has been the president for 2nd time.
After that, Associate Prof. Sommai Pivsa-Art, the president of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, congratulated to the new president of CST and gave opening speech for the 2nd day of the Conference. Then, we started the morning session.
In the afternoon, Prof. Stephen Westland from University of Leeds, England, gave a special lecture for everyone. He talked in the topic “Human-centric coloured environments”.
Moreover, there was company exhibition from Konica Minolta Business Solution and Konica Minolta Sensing during the 2 days of conferences. They presented the new technology in color industry.
